1 dead in crash on I-5 in Arlington

ARLINGTON, Wash. — State troopers are investigating a traffic accident that occurred Friday on southbound I-5 in Arlington that left one person dead.

The accident happened just north of the Stillaguamish River.

Troopers said a driver in a Dodge Durango was traveling in the far left lane and had started to change lanes but noticed another vehicle, then swerved back to the left and overcorrected, causing their SUV to roll multiple times.

One of the seven people inside the SUV was ejected, authorities said.

The investigation remains ongoing.
