• 'Green River Killer' transferred out of Washington penitentiary

    SEATTLE - Gary Ridgway, a mass murderer known as the “Green River Killer,” has been transferred from the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla to the U.S. Penitentiary in Colorado.

    He was transferred on May 14, 2015, according to the State Department of Corrections.

    Gary Ridgway, a truck painter from Auburn, Washington pleaded guilty in 2003 -- to 48 murders.

    He has more convictions than any other serial killer in U.S. history.

    He was 52 when he was arrested. He's now 66-years-old.
