Belligham’s Reid Boiler Works building burned down Saturday night after aerial fireworks were discharged, a fire official said.
BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The fire happened at 10th Street and Douglas Avenue in Fairhaven at about 10:20 p.m.
The Bellingham Fire Department responded after a report of a grass fire.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire after 90 minutes.
According to fire official, an investigation identified three gold-colored aerial fireworks had been set off, just south of where the grass fire was reported.
A nearby railway was shut down because of the harsh heat and flames.
Damage estimates from the fire have not been released.
There were no injuries reported.
