EVERETT, Wash. — City workers in Everett are demolishing two of three bikini barista coffee stands that were used to promote prostitution.
Owner Carmela Panico gave up the stands in a plea deal after pleading guilty in September to promoting prostitution and money laundering.
Police said for two years, Panico netted millions by turning more than a half-dozen of her bikini barista stands -- Java Juggs and Twin Peaks -- into drive-through brothels where she encouraged her employees to strip and perform sex acts on the customers.
Police have the incidents on undercover video and surveillance footage from the stands.
One of the stands that was torn down Wednesday morning was on Evergreen Way.
