SEATTLE — Tools and building materials used to build wheelchair ramps were stolen from a storage containers at Pier 91 in Seattle.
The burglary happened between Oct. 25 and Oct. 31.
On Nov. 1, staff were trying to load equipment for a ramp installation and noticed the padlocks used to secure three storage containers were cut and replaced with different locks.
Staff and authorities found a number of items stolen.
Authorities say $5,000 worth of power tools and building materials for the Puget Sound Labor Agency (PSLA) Regional Access Mobility Program (RAMP) were stolen.
The nonprofit program builds low-cost wheelchair ramps for disabled residents on limited incomes living in and around Western Washington.
The tools that were stolen are used exclusively for the construction of ramps.
