ISSAQUAH, Wash. — A 4-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was hit by a vehicle in Issaquah Friday.
The accident occurred at about 11:30 a.m., as the boy and his mother crossed westbound Newport Way. He was a few steps ahead of his mother, who was pushing his bike.
Firefighters said early reports were that the child was alert and conscious, but medics had to perform CPR on the boy.
He was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.
The driver, a 67-year-old Klahanie woman, immediately stopped and cooperated with Issaquah police during the investigation. There is no indication that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident.
