Semi hits disabled vehicle on I-405, driver killed

FACTORIA, Wash. — A 24-year-old woman driving a Toyota Scion was killed Monday morning when her disabled vehicle was hit by a semi on Interstate 405 southbound in Factoria.

Alea S. Price, 24, hit a deer before the semi collided with her car at approximately 4:52 a.m., according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Medical aid, fire assistance, the Incident Response Team and the Washington State Patrol all arrived at the scene of the crash.

Price died at the scene.

Southbound 405 near Interstate 90 was blocked for just over three and a half hours. There was a two-mile backup shortly before 7 a.m.

The driver of the semi, Kulwinder Singh, 28, was not injured.
