SEATTLE — An 8-year-old girl threw the ceremonial first pitch at a Seattle Mariners game on Sunday.
Little Anna Comstock is a blood cancer survivor.
Anna’s family frequented Mariners game, and they still try to attend games when she is feeling well enough.
Anna made a big impact on an audience last week—when she gave a speech while visiting Seattle Genetics.
She wasn’t feeling well; when her mother cried, she cried.
While battling cancer, Anna’s family says she often directed them to stay positive.
“No crying. I'm not crying, so you can't cry,” she’d tell them.
Anna was diagnosed with leukemia when she was 4-years-old.
She has been remission since 2013, but is still coping with the side effects of treatments—and residual complications from once having cancer.
Over $3,000 was raised for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk.
Seattle Genetics’ Light the Night made Anna their Honoree—giving her the gift of the first pitch.
