KIRKLAND, Wash. — Two men were sentenced to more than 25 years in prison Friday for what prosecutors called an attempted “thrill killing.”

The two men admitted they attacked 18-year-old Deep Rawat inside Rawat's parents' Kirkland home last year.

22-year-old Vincent Sisounong and 20-year-old Blessing Gainey pulled Rawat from his bed and tried to chop off his legs.

Rawat escaped but suffered deep cuts.

Sisounong told detectives he wanted to watch Rawat fight for his life.

One of Vincent Sisounong’s attorneys said Sisounong thought he was in a violent video game when he was torturing his victim.

Sisounong told detectives he “enjoyed” attacking Rawat, and said that he and Gainey planned to kill everyone in the house, but that only the victim had been home.

Gainey admitted he hacked the victim’s leg down to the bone to keep him from escaping.

Sisounong and Gainey were sentenced by Judge Jean Rietschel at Friday’s hearing.
