BURIEN, Wash — Detectives are talking to people who were in an apartment when two people were shot in the stomach in Burien.
Police were called to the View Ridge Park Villa Apartments about 4:45 a.m. Thursday.
Detectives said there were several people who saw what happened but they only speak Spanish, so police had to call a Spanish-speaking officer to the scene to get more information.
A man and woman who appear to be in the 40s or 50s were both shot in the stomach. They were transported to Harborview Medical Center.
Despite their wounds, they are expected to be OK.
Police said the two were shot by someone they know and that person ran from the scene and has not been found.
Investigators are classifying the shooting as a domestic situation, but would not elaborate if it was a family member who shot the two or someone else.
Because the shooting was not random, police said the public is not believed to be in danger.
Investigators continue to speak with witnesses and mark evidence inside the apartment.
