Deputies with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to WYFF that the mother, Jenna Feathers, was home while the children were in the tub when the August tragedy occurred.

Feathers was arrested Wednesday in connection with the 1-year-old’s death, WHNS reported.

Deputies also confirmed to WYFF that the baby was not transported to an area hospital until after other family members returned to the Lemans Drive home. It was not immediately clear how much time elapsed between the discovery of the unresponsive infant and the seeking of medical treatment.

According to WHNS, Feathers has been charged with homicide by child abuse and three additional counts of unlawful neglect for the other toddlers who were with the baby in the tub.
