Scottie Dean Morris was last seen in Eaton at 8.30 p.m. on March 16.

Update 10 a.m. March 27: Scottie Morris was found safe over the weekend. According to police, he has been placed in a safe environment with the assistance of Delaware County Child Protective Services, according to a post from

Original story:

Felicia and Brian Morris, Scottie’s parents, have taken lie detector tests, according to police. The couple gave authorities a photo of their son wearing a T-shirt that had “I’m a liar,” and “I hurt my brother,” written in ink on the front of the shirt.

The picture was reportedly taken the day Scottie went missing and Eaton Police chief Jay Turner has since confirmed to WPTA that he was made to wear the shirt as a punishment.

Police used the photo on social media to get a picture of Scottie in front of the public, but the photo was cropped to remove the shirt and reposted. According to police, the shirt was cropped out of the photo because of comments about the boy and how he looked.

According to police, it was the only photo provided to them by the family.

A missing person alert said the teen “is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.”

On Monday night, the boy’s mother issued a statement urging him to come home. Turner said police searched the town multiple times looking for the teen, but have found no sign of the boy.

“We’ve done everything investigatory we could do,” Turner said. “To search anything else would kind of be redundant because we’ve searched everything more than twice.”

Eaton is a town of just under 1,600 residents.

According to Turner, the EPD is working with the Indiana State Police, Delaware County Sheriff’s Department, DNR and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to find the boy.
