Michael Barajas, 36, of Flint, was arrested and charged with human trafficking, kidnapping, sexual assault, possession of methamphetamine and ecstasy, assault with a dangerous weapon, felony firearm possession and assault with intent to do great bodily harm, The Tri-County Times reported.

“This story is horrifying,” Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson said during a Facebook video. “Rarely have I ever used adjectives like I’m going to use for this case.

“This suspect threatened to sink his teeth -- these teeth that are filed -- into the victim’s neck and rip her throat out,” the sheriff added. “It’s chilling ... the story is unbelievable.”

Barajas was arrested last week by the Genesee Human Oppression Strike Team (GHOST), WDIV-TV reported. Authorities said a 20-year-old pregnant woman escaped from a home where Barajas’ had held her captive and sexually assaulted her for three weeks, according to the television station.

According to Swanson, Barajas allegedly abducted the woman during the week of Thanksgiving, tied her to a bed and locked her in a room for trafficking, WEYI-TV reported. The sheriff added that Barajas also allegedly screwed in windows to prevent the woman from escaping.

“This guy used the opportunity to not only sexually assault but have people come over and traffic her as she was tied forcibly to the bed while they assaulted her,” Swanson told reporters.

Swanson said the woman attempted to escape three times before she was successful on Dec. 8, according to the television station. She went to a local hospital for treatment.

After the nurses alerted authorities, GHOST officers raided the home and arrested Barajas, WDIV reported.

“This guy is a monster,” Swanson told reporters. “If you look at the teeth that are filed down and the threats of ripping out a throat, I will say no more.”

Bail for Barajas was set at $250,000, according to the television station. He will appear in court for a probable cause hearing on Dec. 22, WEYI reported.
