Man accused of hitting Colorado hotel worker with horseshoe, microwaving fire extinguisher

PUEBLO, Colo. — A man is accused of swinging a horseshoe at a Colorado hotel worker and trying to microwave a fire extinguisher, authorities said.

The incident occurred at 4:35 a.m. Thursday at the hotel in Pueblo, KDVR reported.

According to a Facebook post by the Pueblo Police Department, a hotel employee said the man came into the building and tried to take snacks. When the employee asked the man to pay for the food, the man allegedly took out a horseshoe and struck the worker in the head.

The man then pulled a fire alarm and went to the kitchen, where he damaged some property and tried to microwave a fire extinguisher, police said.

Other officers arrived at the hotel to assist, and they found the man after he allegedly broke a glass door, KDVR reported. The man, who was not identified, was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, the Pueblo Police Department said.

The hotel employee was not injured.
