Kevin Hart and Will Smith are working on a new version of the 1987 John Hughes hit that starred the late John Candy and Steve Martin.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the remake will be written by Aeysha Carr with a modern take on the original. The remake will feature two mismatched people trying to get home for the holidays who find they need to team up despite their differences in personality.

The road trip comedy will be developed from Smith’s Westbrook Studios and Hart’s Hartbeat Productions and Paramount Pictures.
This will be Carr’s movie writing debut, according to Deadline Hollywood. She is a supervising producer on “Brooklyn 99″ and was the executive producer for “Woke,” an upcoming Hulu series.
