CHICAGO — Five people, including a 16-year-old girl, were seriously wounded after a fight broke out in a west Chicago neighborhood, authorities said.
The shooting occurred near Daniel Webster Elementary School at about 1:30 a.m. CDT in the Lawndale neighborhood of the city, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. The Chicago Police Department said the group of people were between the ages of 16 and 33, according to WLS-TV.
The teen was shot in the back; a man and woman, both 21, were shot in the left arm; and a 33-year-old man was shot in the face, the Sun-Times reported. All were taken to an area hospital in serious condition, police said.
A 21-year-old man was shot in the left side of his body and was taken to a different hospital, the newspaper reported. He was also in serious condition.
Police said no one was taken into custody, WFLD-TV reported.
