CHICAGO — Four teens were arrested by Chicago police after allegedly stealing a man’s car as he shoveled snow to open up a parking space.
According to police, the 28-year-old man was shoveling snow at about 11:40 p.m. Tuesday so that he could park his blue Lexus ES300, WLS reported. Two males ran up to him after exiting a tan-colored Ford Fusion, the television station reported.
One of the teens pointed a gun at the victim, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. A second teen took the man’s money and car keys and drove off in the Lexus, the newspaper reported. The other teens fled the scene in the Fusion, according to WMAQ.

Forty minutes later, police saw the carjacked vehicle about 10 miles away, WLS reported. After the car was pulled over at a gas station, it was confirmed as stolen.
A 19-year-old man, a 15-year-old boy, a 19-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl who were in the car were taken into custody, WLS reported.
Three of the teens were released without charges, but the 19-year-old man was held on a separate arrest warrant, according to the Sun-Times.
There were no injuries reported, police said.
The owner of the Lexus said he will not press charges, the Sun-Times reported.
