According to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, the women died at the new NHK Seating of America plant west of Frankfort, the Lafayette Journal & Courier reported.

“We have two deceased people here at the facility,” Sheriff Rich Kelly told reporters. “All three are NHK employees.”

NHK Seating designs and makes seating for vehicles and operates production facilities serving the Subaru plant in Lafayette, according to WISH-TV.

The alleged shooter is in custody, WTHR reported.

The names of the victims will be released after their families are notified, Kelly told reporters.

Deputies responded to a report of a shooting at about 4:15 p.m. EDT, WXIN reported. Deputies found the two women on the ground and were able to intercept the alleged shooter, who was driving a blue Ford Focus, after a brief chase, the television station reported.

NHK Seating closed both of its facilities in Frankfort after the shootings, according to WTHR.

“The factory is shut down at both plants for the day,” Kelly told reporters. “They’re concerned with the well being of their employees.”

It is unclear how the alleged shooter was related to the victims, if at all. A possible motive was not revealed.
