BAYTOWN, Texas — A celebration of life turned deadly after someone opened fire in Baytown, Texas.
Update 10:41 a.m. EST Dec. 13: According to KTRK, about 50 adults and children were at the celebration of life event. Harris County Sheriff said at least 13 people were hurt in the shooting. One person, identified as Disha Allen, was killed.
Original report: KHOU reported one person was killed and several others were hurt during the ceremony.
KTRK reported the celebration of life was being held by a mother in honor of her son who had been killed at his home a few weeks ago.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said someone drove up and started shooting into the crowd.
The person killed was pronounced dead at an area hospital. At least seven other people had non-life-threatening injuries, The Houston Chronicle reported.
