A warning from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security: You may want to uninstall QuickTime because the popular media player could open up your computer to hackers.
Security experts posted a blog last week that Apple is not providing security updates for the Windows version of QuickTime. But there are what are being called critical bugs found in the software, CBS News reported.
The haven't been any attacks that the experts don't know of any attacks, but warn that the program is vulnerable.
They only way to protect your system from those vulnerabilities is to uninstall QuickTime.
To uninstall from a PC, click on Uninstall QuickTime 7 on the control panel.
The steps are also posted on Apple's website.
Mac users, you don't have to worry about QuickTime vulnerabilities. The holes only affect PCs.
