AUBURN, Wash. — Southline Sounder trains were held after a fatal collision with a pedestrian in Auburn Tuesday morning.
The collision occurred in the 1900 block of B Street Northwest. A man was killed.
Burlington Northern Santa Fe spokesman Gus Melonas says the train operated by a BNSF crew was traveling from Tacoma to Seattle when the accident happened at about 6:45 a.m.
Trains resumed service at about 7:35 a.m.
Melonas says this was the 26th train-pedestrian fatality in 2015, which is the highest number of fatal train accidents in Washington state in the past 20 years.
