Suspect in Lakewood gas station shooting arrested

An 18-year-old man suspected of a shooting a 46-year-old man outside a Lakewood gas station earlier this month was arrested on Monday.

On Feb 2, investigators said the victim had a conversation with the suspect near a car in the parking lot of the Texaco gas station in the 12700 block of Bridgeport Way Southwest.

The victim walked away and the suspect allegedly shot the victim seven times before driving away, police said.

The victim survived but didn't know the identity of the suspect.

On Monday, police located the vehicle in the shooting at a trailer in Parkland.

Investigators said the suspect tried to drive away but his car was struck. He got out and ran away.

Deputies and a K-9 officer chased the suspect and took him into custody. He was taken to the hospital for his injuries from the dog.

On Tuesday he was released and was booked into the Pierce County Jail.
