FIFE, Wash. — Police say a 10-year-old Fife boy who was missing because he was afraid of being disciplined for a prank has been found and is being reunited with his family.
On Wednesday at about 9 p.m., Lucas Triggs and a friend were playing in the parking lot of their apartment complex in the 2400 block of 62nd Avenue East in Fife.
Police say the boys played a prank on a neighbor and then fled the complex because they feared being disciplined.
They ran to the area of the fire station in the 2100 block of 54th Avenue East, where they stayed until it started getting dark.
Police say the friend returned home, but Lucas was afraid to go home. He was last seen by the friend at about 9:30 p.m. Police did an extensive search of the area, including a K-9 track, but were unable to find Lucas.
Fife police sent a message to media at about 12:20 p.m. Thursday, saying he was found safe and unharmed.
