SEATTLE — A major expansion of Metro bus routes begins Saturday in Seattle, after city voters approved a .01 percent sales tax increase and an additional $60 in car tab fees.
Among the highlights, increasing service on Rapid Ride C and D lines so that the buses come every eight minutes in peak commute times, every 12 minutes midday and every 15 minutes in the evening.
“That would be nice if it would come more frequently," said Violet Andry, who relies on the D line.
Fifty-three routes will get added service or reliability improvements.

"This is one of the biggest service changes we've seen, it's over a hundred thousand hours," said Jeff Switzer of King County Metro.
An additional wave of service expansion comes in September.
