BELLEVUE, Wash. — During the time when people are turning up the heat, Puget Sound Energy will give its electricity customers a one-time credit on their utility bills.
The credit will be applied to December and January bills that will save the average residential electric customer about $40.
Businesses will also receive the credit.
The credits will be based on electricity used during the month of December and comes from a payout from PSE selling off assets from Jefferson County in 2010.
The total amount to be paid to PSE customers will be $59.2 million, which includes accrued interest.
Most customers will see a small credit on the December statement and the rest will come on January's invoice.
