Pedestrian struck by Metro bus in Renton

RENTON, Wash. — Police are investigating after a 79-year-old woman was struck by a Metro bus Wednesday night in Renton.

The incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. on Rainier Avenue and South Third Place.

The woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center and has life-threatening injuries.

Metro officials said the bus was in service during the time of the incident, but it is unknown how many people were on board.

Officials said the driver was put on administrative leave.

Renton police are continuing the investigation.
