PORT ANGELES, Wash. — A former tribal social services worker charged in connection with the death of a 2-year-old Forks boy will testify against her mom as part of a plea deal.
In the agreement reached with Clallam County prosecutors, 28-year-old Michelle Ward will plead guilty to a lesser charge of criminal mistreatment. She was initially charged with second-degree manslaughter in the Nov. 11 death of Isaac Ward.

The Peninsula Daily News reports Ward agreed to testify against her mother Ramona Ward, who is charged with second-degree murder in the boy's death.
He died two days after he was found unconscious. Authorities said Ramona Ward had been physically abusing the boy for about two months.
Michelle Ward received custody of the boy, a relative, in early 2016. Her mother took care of him in the home they shared with others.
The boy's grandmother and other relatives criticized the plea deal.
