EVERETT, Wash. — Hundreds of tires burned at a used tire shop in Everett. The fire also burned a home.

It started at about 3:40 a.m. Monday in the 13000 block of Highway 99.

Crews say about 500 used tires were burning and they are using both water and foam to fight the flames.
As of 6 a.m., the fire was still burning and firefighters said they had to bring more foam to the scene. The fire was mostly under control as of 7:45 a.m.
The fire spread to a home behind the shop, which became engulfed in flames. The homeowner is OK.
About 30 firefighters are at the scene.
Crews had to protect a nearby strip mall, the Mukilteo Speedway Center, as well.
