The Woodland Park Zoo giraffe who gained notoriety last May for his specialized therapeutic shoes turned 1 over the weekend.
Born on May 2, 2019, Hasani with diagnosed with congenital abnormalities in his rear legs. He was outfitted with custom therapeutic shoes that corrected his condition in just a few weeks.

Hasani's story received an outpouring of support, and the zoo said it heard from thousands of people who were moved.

At birth, Hasani weighed 150 pounds and was 6 feet tall. Hasani is now 1,000 pounds and 11 feet tall.
