DES MOINES, Wash. — Swimmers with South King Fire & Rescue had to pull a woman from the water after witnesses say they saw her drive her car down the Redondo Beach boat launch Sunday evening.
It happened in Des Moines at about 7:30 p.m.
Swimmers were able to reach her about 150 feet off shore and pull her to dry land.
“She's critical. She was unconscious when we brought her out of the water. She was in there, I don't know, probably ten or 15 minutes,” said Vic Pennington with South King Fire & Rescue.
The woman, estimated to be in her 30s, was transported to Harborview Medical Center.
At the time of the incident, investigators did not yet know if alcohol or drugs were a factor.
