A woman died Tuesday night in Everett after being hit by a USPS vehicle while crossing the street.
Officers responded to a report of a collision at the intersection of Colby Avenue and Pacific Avenue at 5:45 p.m. They arrived to find that a woman had been hit by a USPS truck while crossing the street when the light changed. Witnesses said that as she continued walking, the truck was westbound on Pacific Avenue with a green light. The driver did not see the woman crossing and struck her.
The woman was transported from the scene but later died from her injuries.
On Wednesday, the victim was identified by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's office as 67-year-old Victoria L. Taggart of Everett.
The driver remained at the scene while detectives investigated. Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
