Trump protesters disrupt rally, confront supporters

Trump rally in Everett Tuesday night.

EVERETT, Wash. — Several protesters were removed by security from Xfinity Arena for interrupting Donald Trump's speech. Among them were two women who identified themselves only by their first names.

Jen and Erica told KIRO 7 they are school teachers, and they wanted to slip into the very long lines of Trump supporters, to hear their philosophy.

Jen told KIRO 7, she began loudly chanting "Hill-a-ry" when she heard Trump talking about racial issues in America.

"Trump just kept talking about Black Lives Matter, and he's not telling the truth, he's just full of stuff all the time, and all those people were buying it so, I'd had enough," she said.

Outside, hundreds of police officers from Everett to Seattle kept a line of Trump suporters -- which stretched for blocks, at arm's length from protesters. The loud volley of arguments went back and forth for hours.

Protestors chanted "Walk of shame," and "You endorse hate!"  While Trump supporters countered with chants of "Get a job!"

Earlier, 2nd District U.S. Congressman Rick Larsen led a protest in nearby Clark Park. "His hate-filled rhetoric is not welcome here in Washington State," Larsen said.

The crowd marched a half-mile to the arena, clamoring to debate Trump supporters walking by.

"He runs off hypocrisy, he feeds off hate, said Antonio Dean, who said he is approaching legal voting age. You look at all these people at his rally right there, they're not really voting for so much policy, they're voting for the personality." Dean said.

Retired MarineRick Cluphf said he wanted to add a protest voice from the community of veterans. "It's a unique situation to have served our country, to have removed dictators. And then to see one potentially getting ready to step into the office of our country," he said.

Among the protesters was Adrianna Griffin, an African-American woman who just received her degree in nursing. I do have hope and confidence that we and the people in that (pro-Trump) line will find common ground," she said. "I have hope."

Everett police told KIRO 7, there were only two arrests. Both were protesters who were removed from the arena. Police say a man was arrested for disorderly conduct, and a woman was arrested for slapping a Trump supporter in view of a police officer.
