RENTON, Wash. — Renton police are prepared for the grand opening of a new Chick-fil-A restaurant in Renton Thursday.

They even produced a video so the public would know how traffic will be routed and that congestion could affect their commute.

Police said large crowds are expected through the weekend.

The new restaurant is at 375 Rainier Ave S. at Renton Center, just south of the intersection of South Third St and Rainier Ave S.

It will be open for drive-through, mobile curbside and mobile carry-out service from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Contactless ordering and payment is available online or through the Chick-fil-A mobile app. Delivery via food delivery app will be available shortly after the opening.

The restaurant will employ about 150 full- and part-time team members.

In place of the traditional grand opening celebration, the store will surprise 100 people who are making an impact in Renton with free food for a year.

Chick-fil-A will also donate $25,000 to Feeding America. The funds will be distributed to partners in King County to help in the fight against hunger.
