BELLEVUE, Wash. — Three people were arrested in Bellevue after someone reported seeing a car park in a gated garage with a piece of paper covering their license plate, according to the Bellevue Police Department.

Around 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 18, a person reported seeing three people pull into the gated garage in the 10300 block of Northeast 1st Street.

The reporting party noted to police that parking was for residents or paid for retail shopping.

When officers arrived, they found one suspect holding a package that was taken from an open mailroom in the apartment complex.

Officers arrested the car’s registered owner for theft and obscuring his plate.

A third suspect was arrested on a warrant out of Bellevue.

When officers received consent to search the car, they located a second stolen package, numerous catalytic converter theft tools, various license plates and suspected drug paraphernalia.

All three suspects were arrested and booked into jail.
