Teen shot in Seattle's South Park neighborhood

SEATTLE — A teenage boy who was shot twice Monday night in Seattle’s South Park neighborhood is recovering at Harborview Medical Center.

Seattle police said they were called to South Cloverdale Street and 12th Avenue Southwest for reports of a man who had been shot.

When officers arrived, along with medics, they said the victim had a gunshot wound to the leg and a bullet had grazed his back.

The 17-year-old was taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said witnesses had seen a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants standing on the corner of 12th Avenue Southwest and the man had shot at the victim.

Witnesses described the man to police as being white, 25-30 years old and 5 feet, 10 inches tall.

Some other witnesses told police the man had jumped into an older-model Cadillac, which had sped away, going northbound.

Police are investigating the shooting.
