Teen killed in violent crash near Puyallup identified

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — A teen who was killed in a violent crash on Pioneer Way East near Puyallup on Wednesday has been identified.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed it was 16-year-old Ta-Mi-U-Sun Earl of Graham. The young man, who was a passenger in a car, died from multiple blunt force injuries at the scene of the crash.

The crash happened at about 2 p.m. on Pioneer Way East and Stewart Avenue East.

Investigators said the vehicle with four teens inside clipped another vehicle that was making a left turn onto Pioneer Way, causing the teen driver to lose control.

Pierce County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Darren Moss Jr. said the car “Fishtailed into the embankment, which got it sideways and into the pole. The speed from that car is the primary reason for the crash at this point.”

The driver, an 18-year-old, was injured along with two other teens.

Deputies said the driver could face vehicular homicide charges.
