Some Penn Cove shellfish harvesting areas reopen

NOW PLAYING ABOVE

WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. — Some of the Penn Cove shellfish growing areas have reopened for harvesting.

They've been shut down since an old fishing boat caught fire last month.

Not all areas have been re-opened.  The ones closest to the fuel spill are staying shut pending further tests.

The vessel Deep Sea spilled fuel after burning and sinking last month.

It was brought to the surface Sunday and crews are towing the derelict vessel to Seattle on Wednesday.
