1 injured in shooting in Puyallup

PUYALLUP, Wash. — A man is fighting for his life after being shot Friday evening in Puyallup.

The shooting happened at 5:23 p.m. at the Northwest Motor Inn located in the 1400 block of South Meridian Street.

When police arrived they found a 21-year-old man who had been shot twice in the chest, officials said.

Lifesaving measures were performed on the man and police took him to Good Samaritan Hospital, only a block away.

Law enforcement officials said the victim had just gotten into the backseat of a car, sat for a moment and then got out, showing signs of distress. Police said the victim made it to the motel and asked for help.

The suspect fled the scene.

On Saturday, Puyallup police released photos of a car in connection with the shooting.

Investigators believe one ore more suspect were in the car that drove away from the scene after the shooting.

Police said the car appeared to be a 2009 Toyota Camry. Photos shows the car had a temporary license in the rear window and dealer advertising in the front and back plates.

Detectives are attempting to identify the owner or occupants of the car.
