Seattle police remove barriers, hit with graffiti on the same day

Graffiti at Seattle Police West Precinct

SEATTLE — Seattle police removed the protective barriers around the West Precinct Tuesday afternoon and were targeted by protesters just hours later.

On Tuesday afternoon the eco-block wall surrounding the front of the building was removed. By 8 p.m. a group of protesters arrived to protest inequality in policing and members of the group used spray chalk on the building and walkways.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the West Precinct remains closed to the public.
