The Puget Sound region is nearing nearly a month without rain – with nearly 21 dry days.
The seven-day forecast from KIRO 7 PinPoint Meteorologists shows sunny days ahead with some clouds in the upper 70s – but not any rain.
But we’re still not close to setting a record. In 1951, the area went 51 consecutive days without rain.

“We last had measurable rain—0.06” at Sea-Tac—on June 17. The last significant rain was two days earlier with a little over an inch,” said KIRO 7 Meteorologist Kelly Franson.
July is not normally a wet month for Seattle: the average rainfall is 0.70”. Since records began in the 1890s, we’ve had six years without any measurable rain in July in Seattle: 1896, 1922, 1930, 1958, and 2013.
Seattle did have a historically wet spring, and we received nearly four feet of rain from October to May.
