Seattle delivery man corners pizzeria robbery suspect

When a man shoved a bag in the face of a cashier of a Seattle pizza restaurant, a quick-thinking delivery man couldn't stand idle in the kitchen.

Nassry Ayala was busy working behind the counter when the 32-year-old Seattle man walked into Romia's Pizza in Eastlake.

He first ordered a pepperoni pizza and a soda.

"I looked back and he's just pointing with a gun at me," said Ayala.  "And the first (thing) he told me is like 'don't do anything stupid.' I had two customers on [the] end, a customer in the middle, and a customer outside, and no one noticed."

The man handed him a bag.

The suspect left in an RV.

Seconds later, Victor Santiago, returned from being out on delivery.

He jumped in his own vehicle and went after the suspect, cornering him at the gas station.

Seattle police officers swooped in on the busy gas station on North East 45th in the U-District.

Police call Santiago a hero.

"Yeah," agreed Ayala. "He is a hero. Yeah, he is.  If it wouldn't have been for him, he would have gotten away."

According to court documents, the man he helped police nab is 32-year-old Justin Gans of Seattle.
Gans was ordered held on $100,000 bail.
