SEATTLE — With unusually warm temperatures this month and little rain throughout the summer, hearing that rain is in the forecast this week may be welcome news for many around Western Washington.
Some cooler and cleaner ocean air is moving in Monday and air quality is in the moderate to unhealthy for sensitive group range, with a few monitoring stations reporting good air quality.

The onshore push isn’t super strong, but it should be strong enough to improve air quality a bit more with some haze still around Monday afternoon.
Air quality will be the lowest closest to the foothills and closer to the fires. Highs will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s, which compared to the 88 degrees on Sunday is a huge difference. The record for Monday is 74, which we more than likely will not reach. I have Seattle hitting 69.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, that onshore wind pattern will be light to non-existent, which will mean some haze moving back into the area. I don’t think it will be anywhere near as bad as it was this past weekend, but do expect some haze and highs around 70. Record highs for the next few days are at or around the low 70s.
A few more clouds will move in on Thursday, but Friday will be a different story altogether.
Rain will move in on Friday and it should be a nice wetting rain and not just a few showers!
Highs will be significantly cooler into the upper 50s. Once the front moves through, we should see some convergence zone rain last into early on Saturday.
Look for a few spotty showers on Saturday and maybe a few Sunday. However, another round of more widespread rain will move in Sunday evening.
Highs this weekend will be in the upper 50s.
