Seattle Police responded to Ben Bridge Jewelers on 4th Avenue and Pike after reports of a robbery just before 6:00 p.m. According to witnesses, the suspects entered the business and proceeded to smash the display cases with hammers. They removed valuable items from inside the cases, investigators said.
Seattle Police said there is a limited description of the suspects, who fled before police arrived.
Friday's incident marks the third time in one month a Ben Bridge Jewelers location in Washington has been robbed.
On Nov. 25, Bellevue Square was placed on lockdown after robbers used rocks to smash display cases at Ben Bridge. Police said the suspects stole high-end watches before running aaway.
Several days later, surveillance video captured two suspects using hammers to smash the glass at Ben Bridge Jewelers inside the Alderwood Mall.
Customers showed up to Ben Bridge on Fourth Avenue only to find it closed Friday evening. Kaylee Best hoped to get her engagement ring resized.
"Robbing a jewelry store is something you hear about more in movies than something that's reality," she said.
Best said it's alarming that the suspects were able to get away.
"It's definitely especially in an area that's as populated as right here in downtown," she said.
Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact Seattle Police.
