Patriot Prayer set to host rally in Seattle this weekend

Following a rally in Portland on Aug. 4, Patriot Prayer, a conservative group led by Joey Gibson, is heading to Seattle for a rally downtown Saturday.

Patriot Prayer is calling the rally "Liberty or Death – Rally Against Left Wing Violence." It is set to begin at Seattle City Hall at 1 p.m., according to the Facebook page.

The rally appears to be in response to Initiative 1639, a proposed ballot measure that would enact a string of gun regulations including raising the age to purchase semi-automatic rifles to 21 and creating standards for secure gun storage.

On the Facebook event page, Patriot Prayer group posted:

We the people have had enough. Our rights have been trampled for over 220 years. Washington State no longer listens to the people.

We are the People! We are no longer the "silent majority," we are awakened and we are LOUD!

I-1639 is an illegal and unconstitutional initiative. We WILL NOT stand for it.

WE THE PEOPLE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!

Check back to kiro7.com on Saturday for updates as the rally progresses.
