FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — An officer was hurt when his patrol car was hit by a suspected DUI driver in Federal Way.
It happened on 16th Avenue at South 344th Street at about 1:45 a.m. Friday.
Police say the crash happened when a Lexus sedan turned out of a parking lot of a tavern and into the path of the patrol car at a high rate of speed, causing a T-bone collision.

Witnesses say the driver continued down the road for a short distance and then got out of the car and ran from the scene.
After an extensive search using a K9, the driver, who was suspected to be under the influence, was found and arrested.
The 26-year-old Federal Way man will be booked on charges of felony hit-and-run and vehicular assault.
