Multiple mudslides shut down Orville Road East in Pierce County on Thursday evening.
The closure is between Kapowsin Highway and state Route 161.
Road crews said that as the slope is unstable, they cannot clean up the mess.
It is likely the road will remain closed until sometime next week.
However, there is some good news out of Federal Way for drivers.
All lanes of westbound state Route 18 have been reopened at Peasley Canyon Road. A landslide had stopped traffic earlier this week.
Road crews worked Wednesday through Thursday morning to clear the mess and reopen the road.
