Mount Baker Ski Area announced Friday that it will open for business Sunday.
The resort received more than 30 inches of new snow over the past 48 hours, bringing its snow base to 35 inches at Heather Meadows and 52 inches on top of Pan Dome.
Officials said in a news release they anticipate partial operations for Sunday:
• They will be open out of the Heather Meadows Base Area.
• Chairs 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and employees will work toward opening chairs 5 and 6, and additional parts of the mountain, as the day progresses
• Heather Meadows day lodge will be open and the Raven Hut mid-mountain lodge will be open with Grab-and-Go service only.
