Mother, children rescued from balcony during apartment fire in Lacey

LACEY, Wash. — A mother and her four children were rescued from a second-floor balcony after they were trapped by a second-floor apartment fire.

Lacey Fire District says fire crews responded to an apartment fire and immediately pulled out their ladders to perform a rescue.

Firefighters performed the rescue while also putting out the fire.

The fire was quickly extinguished and contained.

Three of the people rescued need to be treated for minor smoke inhalation.
