SEATTLE — A 40-year-old man was arrested Friday in connection with a shooting that left another man injured at Seattle’s Othello Park.
Witnesses called 911 at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to report gunfire at the park, authorities said.
When officers arrived at the scene, they spotted the vehicle that was carrying the victim, who was taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators found out that the victim went to meet the man about a prior dispute, officials said. While at the park, the suspect reportedly pulled out a gun and began pistol-whipping the victim.
Authorities said the victim then pulled out a gun and both men exchanged gunfire. The victim suffered a wound to his leg and then fled.
After identifying the suspect, investigators booked him into the King County Jail for investigation of assault, robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Officers investigating shooting near 4500 block of S Webster St. At this time, it appears one victim was struck in the leg by gunfire. Police are responding to multiple locations to gather evidence and contact witnesses who fled scene. More information as it becomes available.
