Man ejected from vehicle after crash in Puyallup early Sunday

PUYALLUP, Wash. — A 21-year-old man was ejected from his vehicle after it struck a tree in Puyallup overnight, according to police.

Puyallup police say the man was found about 20 yards from his vehicle after the vehicle hit the tree, then rolled and landed on its wheels again.

He was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center with injuries that were considered life-threatening, according to police. The passenger in the vehicle, also 21, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with injuries that were not considered as serious.

About 2:50 a.m. Sunday, police, citing witnesses, say the vehicle was headed north at a “high rate of speed” in the 3500 block of Ninth Street Southwest before the crash.

Police also say that it “appears that alcohol was a factor in the collision.”
